  10. PhotoCat is a great tool for working quickly and efficiently with a large database of pictures. It's also the ideal tool to put one's holiday pictures in order.

PhotoCat allows you to build catalogs of pictures easily, for example from a Photo-CD. All QuickTime compatible file formats can be read (along with BMP from PC's world, ART, etc). It also offers extended index and search capabilities which help you find pictures quickly. You can attach categories, keywords, a price, a comment, a description to a picture, allowing for very accurate search of the catalog.

  24. Moreover PhotoCat lets you manage large databases of images. Adding, exporting, deleting and transferring pictures are all very easy to do. Moving, renaming or copying the original files are very easy directly from Photocat. Special tools are included to make catalog maintenance easy.

Finally PhotoCat provides many options to distribute databases of images. Printing catalogs is very flexible and the user can customize the page makeup. Catalogs and Slide Shows can be widely and easily distributed via the PhotoCat Player, a special addtional program. You can also create a searchable web database of images automatically and distribute it on the internet or on CD-ROM !! Different options allow the distributor to protect the catalog.

  33. HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE NEEDED

  35. System 7.0 or later, with QuickTime 2.5 or later and AppleEvent Manager on.
  36. The minimum configuration is a 68020 processor
  37. Color display with at least 256 colors
  38. Monitor size 14 inches or larger
  39. A minimum of 4096Kb RAM needed allocated to PhotoCat to run: 5096 Kb preferred.
  40. PhotoCat is optimized for OS 8 / 9, QickTime 3 / 4 and PPC processors. A fat edition and a speedy PPC one are available on PhotoCat Web Site.

It is forbidden to reverse-engineer, disassemble, decompile or make any attempt to discover the source code of PhotoCat or PhotoCat Player. It is also forbidden to copy or modify any portion of PhotoCat or PhotoCat Player or merge it into another program. PhotoCat and Photocat Player uses resources and code portions which are not owned by the author and which are used with permission based on the restrictions described in this paragraph (for more information, see "Photocat info..." in the Apple menu of the PhotCat program).

  50. DISTRIBUTION

PhotoCat and PhotoCat Player can be freely distributed, as long as the distribution includes only and exactly the original files as is (i.e. the files "PhotoCat 3.x", "Photocat Player 2.x", "Help-Line", "PhotoCat Read me", "Licenses", the folder "plug-in" containing "FME.PLUG" and "WEBE.PLUG" files). It is not permitted to include PhotoCat in a commercial package or bundle without the express authorisation of the author.

  65. There is an American and a French edition of the Photocat package. PhotoCat is shareware. You can evaluate this restricted version for up to 30 days. Thereafter, if you want it to keep it and to acquire the full functionality, you must pay the registration fee.
